In a survey by leading U.S. content creation platform Verblio of over 100 digital marketing agency owners and experts, most said that they have seen an increase in business over the last 12 months despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with 71% stating that demand for content for online marketing has grown specifically.

Asked questions relating to challenges faced over the past year regarding content marketing processes, and the “secrets” behind digital content marketing success, the agencies said they have added over nine new clients and lost less than four in the past year, while 75% said they expect further growth in the industry.
Furthermore, 75% of those surveyed said they expect revenue from content marketing to rise over the year to come—only 3% said they expected a decrease in revenue. On average, Verblio found that agencies charge $2,000 or more for interactive marketing campaigns, while social media posts are the least expensive form of content, coming in on average at a cost of $130.

While interactive campaigns command the highest price, blogs come out tops in terms of generating profits. 62% of agencies surveyed said blogs are their most profitable content offerings, while landing pages found the second spot—42% of those surveyed said they are a leading profit generator.
Social media is most popular method for promotion
That some form of promotion is essential to results, was a nearly unanimous conclusion, and social media for their clients finished as the popular method, according to 79% of agencies. 18%, however, still admit to paying for link marketing and other forms of coverage.
Content creators plan to expand blog offerings
Asked what marketing experts plan to invest in the most over the next five years, the answer was blogs and blogging; 61% of content creators plan to swell their blog offerings, while landing pages and video marketing followed.
