You’ve probably seen disposable vapes used in movies, TV shows, and around town. Maybe you’ve even seen disposable vapes on a night out or even at airports in the duty-free section.

But what are they? How do disposable vapes work? And why are so many people using them these days? This article will answer all those questions and more!

What are disposable vapes?

Disposable vapes sometimes called “throwaway vapes” or single-use e-cigarettes, are exactly what they sound like. They’re meant to be used until the battery is depleted and then thrown away.

These devices’ packaging will contain a certain number of puffs expected until the battery dies. Like the Elf Bar, some contain 600 puffs, whilst others have 200-300 puffs.

How do disposable vapes work?

They work the same way a normal vape works but instead contain a non-rechargeable battery. The disposable vape will come pre-loaded with liquid and the heating element inside the device will heat up the liquid to produce vapour that you can inhale.

The pre-filled e-liquid inside disposables is usually nicotine salt. This is commonly preferred over freebase nicotine as it provides a smoother nicotine hit that helps users quit smoking more effectively.

Why are they so popular?

The convenience of disposable vapes is what makes them so popular. They contain everything you need in one single device.

It means no messy refills, no leaking issues, just a quick and easy way to vape on the go.

They’re also extremely popular with beginner vapers. Not everyone wants to spend time refilling coils, building coils, or choosing what flavour juice they want. Disposables keep things simple with limited flavour options, usually revolving around popular fruity flavours.

Do disposables help you quit smoking?

According to Cancer Research UK, users of e-cigarettes were around 60% more successful in quitting smoking than those who used no aid. The vapour gives the same sensation as smoking whilst also providing nicotine to reduce cravings.

The convenience of disposables could make them an excellent way for smokers to quit. They simply allow you to vape on the go without the fuss of re-filling e-liquid or replacing coils and cartridges.

Are disposable vapes safe to use?

Public Health England has stated that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking. They have also stated that there is no situation in which continuing to smoke would be better for your health than switching to vaping.

Disposable vapes, along with all other nicotine-containing vapes, must be registered with the UK government before it is allowed to go on sale in the UK. Each disposable vape that contains nicotine must have a European Community Identification (ECID).

In the UK, all disposable vapes are regulated and comply with strict quality standards. An ECID number assures customers that the product has undergone testing under the Tobacco Products Directive.

Conclusion

The obvious advice remains the same for vaping of any kind: if you don’t smoke, don’t vape. However, if you are a smoker and are looking for a more effective way of quitting smoking than other techniques you’ve tried in the past, disposable vapes are a great way to kick the habit once and for all.
