Award-winning housebuilder Burrington Estates has acquired a site on the edge of Stratton in Cornwall, on the North Cornwall coast, with planning permission for 30 new homes. This follows Burrington Estates’ other current development in the local area, Maer View in Bude where it is building a collection of 21 4-bedroom properties, 9 of which are affordable homes.

Located off Howells Road in Stratton, the new site extends to 3.7 acres and already has outline planning permission in place. Burrington Estates has lodged a reserved matters application for 30 contemporary and eco-friendly family homes together with associated infrastructure.

Over the past seven years Burrington Estates, which is headquartered in Exeter, has established a strong reputation as a leading developer of high specification new homes across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and the West Country. It prides itself on creating homes of distinction that are carefully crafted with sustainability in mind, with an array of environmentally conscious credentials offering residents a greener approach to living. Homes by Burrington Estates complement their surroundings and are renowned for their excellence.

David Jervis, Group Managing Director at Burrington Estates comments: “We were delighted to finish 2022 by concluding the deal to purchase the site in Stratton. It is a great opportunity to develop an attractive, edge of town site to which we will bring our signature bespoke style of development. This part of North Cornwall is highly sought after and we are excited about creating a desirable and well-designed new community, following on from the success of our current development Maer View, nearby in Bude.”

Greenslade Taylor Hunt, the agent for the deal, managed the sale by informal tender before agreeing to the offer from Burrington Estates for an undisclosed price. Michelmores LLP acted for the seller and Ashfords LLP acted for Burrington Estates. Burrington Estates’ team also included Trewin Design Architects, Tyler Grange, Sands & Boon Brown, as well as its major funder BGF.

The premium detached houses at Maer View offer an outstanding lifestyle in the charming seaside town of Bude, combining high quality architecture and interiors with a pretty countryside location.  The 21 houses available for private sale at Maer View come in a range of four-bedroom layouts, each with private garden and garage, set around a central village green.

Ensuring Maer View keeps Burrington Estates’ reputation for excellence moving forward into a cleaner, more environmentally friendly world, the collection of homes benefit from sustainable technology, promoting a greener lifestyle and paving the way for future generations. Air-source heat pumps providing underfloor heating to the ground floor will feature in every property, in addition to wildlife friendly bee bricks, with the option for PV solar panels and electric car charging points to be added to each home.
