Access to legal representation and justice remains a global challenge, with more than 40% of people worldwide struggling to find a proper lawyer or facing difficulty in accessing one. Legal issues affect people from all walks of life, irrespective of their socio-economic status and gender, and many people prefer to seek help from friends and family or resolve the problem directly with the other party, instead of approaching lawyers or courts.

The Global Insights on Access to Justice survey shows that unresolved legal problems can cause stress-related illness, loss of employment, or the need to relocate, affecting more than one in four respondents. The issue of access to legal services is a critical one, as it can have a major impact on social and economic development in many countries. To address this problem, LegaMart, an online legal Platform, understands the significance of this issue and aims to bridge the gap between those who can afford legal services and those who cannot.

With a commitment to providing equitable access to justice, LegaMart leverages the power of technology to make legal representation accessible to anyone, regardless of location or financial status. The platform’s annual report for 2022 shows that it has expanded to over 2,500 international legal experts from more than 100 different countries, operating across all continents.

The LegaMart online network pairs lawyers with applicants, using an algorithm that considers the client’s job specification and the lawyer’s practice area. Since the start of 2022, the company has grown from 18 to 52 employees from seven countries, across five various technical and product departments, and secured funding of £1,700K through an angel investor. LegaMart plans to expand further in 2023 with additional fundraising and an upskilling of its marketing and customer success teams.

LegaMart’s focus on creating a more equitable and accessible legal system is commendable, and its efforts to support women lawyers are laudable. They launched a mentorship program for women lawyers in June 2022, recognizing the challenges that female attorneys face in the industry, including gender bias, stereotyping, and unequal pay. LegaMart is committed to empowering female attorneys by providing peer support, equal pay for cases, and preferred working hours to balance the obstacles they experience in their legal careers.

Commenting on their success, Hamid Bagherzadeh, Co-Founder of LegaMart said: “We are thrilled with how far the organization has come thus far and the number of employees we have welcomed to the business. Our next steps are to implement the best go-to-market strategy by upskilling our marketing and customer success teams.”

Overall, LegaMart’s efforts to provide access to justice are commendable, and their commitment to empowering women lawyers is praiseworthy. They are making significant strides in bridging the gap between those who can afford legal representation and those who cannot, and their expansion and fundraising efforts suggest that they are on the right track.
