Born in Hailey, Idaho, Rudi Kaiser grew up in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. There, he attended an international school for most of his youth.
Upon entering the professional world, Rudi distinguished himself as a passionate and hard worker who excelled in problem-solving and critical thinking in several positions within multiple companies. Eventually, he accepted a role with LaunchPad Group LLC, a dynamic and innovative website construction and maintenance business headquartered in Lynnwood, Washington. He now serves as the company’s Chief of Operations. In his private life, Rudi Kaiser is an avid musician and appreciator of the arts. He currently lives in Seattle, Washington.
LaunchPad Group LLC was founded with the primary goal of helping the average consumer improve their online presence through website construction and maintenance. What do you currently do at your company?
Right now, my job title is Chief of Operations. Among other things, my daily duties include overseeing the company’s many departments, data analysis, and conceiving and developing new products and services. Put simply, I’m in charge of keeping the company running smoothly.
What defines your way of doing business?
My way of conducting business can best be summed as innovative thinking with an emphasis on process management and scalability. When it comes to engaging with colleagues, co-workers, clients, and peers, I think clear, direct communication and respectfulness define my way of doing business.
What keys to being productive can you share?
I think some of the major keys to being productive include staying organized, setting goals, and doing whatever it takes to separate yourself from the competition. And don’t coast on the success of others—fight your own battles and distinguish yourself. Following these four rules will inevitably lead anyone to professional success, no matter the company or the industry.
Tell us one long-term goal in your career.
My central long-term goal is to bring LaunchPad Group LLC to national prominence by expanding our offices throughout the country.
How do you measure success?
Personally, I mainly measure my success by reflecting whether I’ve achieved the goals I’ve set for myself. In leaner times, I measure success by my ability to adapt through hardship.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?
Never, under any circumstances, give up on your goals. Setbacks and obstacles on the path to success are inevitable. Don’t allow them to affect your outlook.
What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?
To anyone considering a career in the realm of e-commerce, I would say the following: Learn something about the different facets of your industry, not just your particular field. Understand how the dots to different departments connect. Be the person that goes above and beyond to understand the visions of your managers, CEO, and company leads in general. Understand the whole machine.
What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
When I find myself with some free time, I love to play music, stay active, and maintain a positive and productive work life balance.
How would your colleagues describe you?
I think my colleagues would describe me as hardworking, constructively critical, methodical, and insightful.
How do you maintain a solid work life balance?
The success I’ve found in maintaining a work life balance has come through trial and error. Everyone is different in this respect. For my part, once I finally figured out where the threshold between balance and imbalance was, I learned to avoid it. Although, admittedly, I do continue to push my boundaries.
What is one piece of technology that helps you the most in your daily routine?
Without a doubt, it’s my computer. Although it may seem like an obvious answer, it’s undeniably the hub of my working life—after all, we are an e-commerce company that teaches people how to build and maintain websites and online stores. But also, like many others in the business world, I use it to create and analyze spreadsheets, type up official work documents, and, of course, oversee the operations of the company. It’s also my primary means of communication via email and video teleconferencing software. My computer is totally indispensable.
What does success look like to you?
I would say that achieving all or most of my goals, exceeding the personal expectations I’ve set for myself both monetarily and functionally, attaining a good work life balance, and making sure my family is happy and healthy would constitute success from my point of view.
What is one piece of advice you would like to leave our readers with?
Don’t let anything limit you. I have achieved growth through my mistakes far more than through my successes. Each failure is a catalyst to become a better and stronger version of yourself. Embrace failure and learn everything you can from it.
