Empower people, teams and organisations – use your expertise to help organisations and individuals succeed by applying interventions and mechanisms to promote healthy workplaces and employee wellbeing
Understand what drives human behaviour in the workplace – explore what motivates people and groups to help promote health and wellbeing through psychological frameworks. You will analyse key theories, principles, and concepts in cognitive psychology and social psychology

Core units

As part of the course, you will complete eight core units to provide you with the skills and experience you need to thrive in a business environment. The unit titles and content might vary, but you can expect to see similar titles:

Healthy work and wellbeing – explores workplace culture, work stressors, and mental health, along with positive workplace behaviour
Managing and rewarding performance – here you will explore the processes involved in managing employee performance in an organisation from an individual and team perspective
Managing change – builds on your knowledge of change perspectives and the capability to determine appropriate leadership across diverse contexts
Neuroscience and human behaviour – teaches you about the biopsychological and physiological basis of human behaviours and contemporary methodologies for studying neurobiological functioning
People analytics – will develop your analytical skills and knowledge of digital human resource management (HRM) systems in practice
Psychological science of wellbeing – applies psychological science to analysing and promoting psychological wellbeing in a biopsychosocial framework
Psychological sciences of human social behaviour – covers the core concepts in social psychology
Psychological science of human information processing – teaches you about core concepts, theories, and principles of cognitive psychology

Elective units

Your course will have a variety of elective units you can choose from, allowing you to tailor the course to suit your needs and career goals. You will typically be given a choice of two from the following or similar units:

Acquiring and managing talent – you will critically evaluate the talent management paradigm, considering the functions of development and recruitment and how these generate high-performance work environments
Diversity and inclusion – allows you to explore the principles and practices for creating a diverse, inclusive, and innovative workplace
Data analytics and organisational decision making – you will develop and enhance your conceptual and practical understanding of big data and analytics in a business context
Managing people and organisations – introduces you to the fundamentals of management and the organisational processes in the context of the contemporary global business environment
Marketing for leaders – teaches you how marketing can achieve long-term relationships with customers by communicating, capturing, creating, and delivering value
Project management – introduces you to the stages of project management, taking you from initial project selection to final closure
Transformative leadership – teaches you about contemporary theories and unpacks a toolkit of practical skills needed for professional development in a range of topics
