It feels inevitable that mobile devices will overtake computers but do you know how soon that might happen? Read this article to find out.

Mobile devices are catching up fast

Mobile devices have long since become an indispensable part of our lives, and they’re fast overtaking traditional computers because of how advanced they’re becoming. In this article, we’ll be explaining why we think that might happen sooner than you think and what 5 features will be central to that.

The future of banking will change, the future of slots will change, as will gaming as a whole, and the world as we know it will never be the same. This is the future, and you’re going to love it.

1. The touchscreen revolution

The touch screen was introduced with the iPhone in 2007, which was just a decade or so ago, but now it’s really everywhere. In fact, when mobile devices were first introduced as a concept, most people laughed at how needless they were because we already had computers that could do all sorts of things.

What use would such a small device be? Well, look around you now and see how many people are staring into their phones while standing in line at the grocery store or while walking on the street. It’s not just that people are using them more often but also for more and more complex tasks than before. Multitasking has evolved tremendously, thanks to this new technology.

We can check our email while watching TV or even browse our social media feed right from our work desktops, so why not do everything from your hand? A smartwatch offers us ultimate mobility and flexibility, which is especially useful if we have active lifestyles where every minute is precious. These devices can be easily paired with our phones allowing us to share data and improve functionality.

2. Screen size and resolution of mobile devices

The resolution and quality of mobile devices are also becoming quite good, and their screens are getting bigger as well. Most mobile devices now have an impressive 1080p display as a bare minimum which means you’ll get excellent image quality regardless of which company you go with.

The same goes for tablets – they’re selling more than ever because people use them to watch movies or play games on public transportation. That’s why we think it won’t be long until people start looking at these devices as potential replacements for their current computers entirely.

You might think that the keyboard and mouse combination is still king, but when you look at how much simpler it is to type directly onto a touchscreen, then it suddenly becomes easier to imagine yourself moving over entirely.

3. Specialized hardware components like built-in NFC chips

Just imagine walking into a store, grabbing an item you want to purchase and then just tapping your phone to the NFC chip on the POS machine that reads all of your information from there. It’s a lot easier than pulling out your wallet, typing in a pin, or even swiping your card. That is the future of paying for things, and that future is here now.

This technology is already being rolled out in a lot of locations, but it’s still not as commonly used on the global stage yet. In the West, this is commonplace, but there are still remote areas where it isn’t the norm while certain regions of the world have been slow to roll this out.

It’s another feature that will simplify things for us and help save time. There are so many different ways our devices can help us get through our day-to-day lives faster and with less effort required while also improving security and user safety.

4. Battery life is becoming less of an issue

Most people won’t be carrying around more than one device because they’ll need to charge them both when going on long trips – and charging two phones may take longer than if you had just left one plugged into an outlet for several hours. However, batteries do seem like they’re improving all the time, so perhaps this won’t be much of a concern anymore?

You might think that battery life isn’t such a big deal for tablets since they have larger batteries, but you’d be wrong about that too. Laptops often have a much longer battery life than any tablet available today, but this comes at a cost – laptops are notoriously heavy and awkward to carry.

Mobile devices are becoming lighter and lighter while their overall capabilities are increasing rapidly, so why wouldn’t we consider them as potential replacements for computers entirely? Only time will tell, but it looks like we’re coming closer every day! New developments with regards to solid-state batteries could mean that mobile devices will be able to run for twice as long without being any heavier.

5. Mobile device cameras are getting better

Most people will agree that the camera on your phone is good enough for most situations – but only when we look at it from a certain perspective. It can’t quite keep up with some of the newer DSLR’s currently available, but then again, why would you want to carry around a camera if all you do is take a few pictures every once in a while?

What we’re trying to say is that things are changing pretty fast here, too. Soon enough, mobile devices should be able to take excellent photos while also editing and sharing them instantly – like you can do on integrated apps like Instagram. They don’t need those fancy lenses or zoom features either because most people won’t be using those anyway, which makes this an area where phones are ready for their break-out moment.
