“Aggregates” is a broad term used to describe granular materials commonly used in construction.

Some of the most common aggregates include grit, sand, limestone, gravel, decorative stone chippings, granite, and more. These materials are sold and purchased in large batches and are intended for the purpose of construction projects.

Aggregates have a wide range of uses in the construction industry. Hence, you should be aware of where different types of aggregates are best used. This article provides information on one of the most widely used loose aggregates in the building industry: sand.
