The Parrot Society UK has announced the launch of their first ever Parrot Awareness Week, to be held from 2nd to 8th July 2023.
The week seeks to promote the welfare of pet parrots in the UK, and is being supported by UK Pet Food, Petcover Group and a volunteer group of avian veterinary professionals.
The week will focus on important themes such as enrichment, nutrition and preventative health care. Daily updates will be available via The Parrot Society UK’s Facebook page. Further information is available on their website.
The week will be concluded by The Parrot Society UK’s annual Pet Parrot Gathering at Stafford County Showground on Saturday 8th July. The gathering will provide an opportunity to meet other parrot enthusiasts, watch flying displays, take part in competitions and lectures from experts, as well as access trade stands. Entry on the day is £10, but wristbands can be purchased in advance for £8 (under 16s free).
