SG Veteris Brings On Board Another Industry Leader as Money Laundering Reporting Officer in Estonia

SG Veteris, a global cryptocurrency-based fintech services group headquartered in London, has today announced the appointment of Janika Vilms as the new Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in Estonia.

Vilms is a veteran of the industry, boasting over 20 years of experience in the banking sector. She has previously worked with renowned financial institutions such as Danske and LHV, where she was responsible for AML and KYC standards and the entire quality control system in Estonia and the Baltics. Most recently, Vilms held a role at LHV, leading Risk Assessment, overseeing monitoring scenarios, onsite and offsite inspections, compliance audits, and internal AML standards.

Commenting on the appointment, Vilms said: “I’m excited for the opportunity to help strengthen SG Veteris’s AML compliance program in Estonia. I look forward to bringing my expertise to help bolster the team.”

Raul Malmstein, Managing Director of SG Veteris Estonia and former chairman of the Management Board of the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority (EFSA), added: “I am thrilled to bring on someone of Janika’s caliber to spearhead our compliance capabilities in Estonia. She is a key hire, leading the team from strength to strength as we continue to build up our presence in the region. Someone with Vilms’ impressive credentials will solidify our position in the market and reinforce our continued commitment to meeting the highest of industry standards.”
