Ethereum Price at $2,350 After Hot CPI and PPI: Bull and…

Updated 15 October 2026. Ethereum traded near $2,350 at 13:07 UTC on Thursday 15 October, down about 5 percent in 24 hours (CoinGecko). It fell after a hot US CPI print on Wednesday and an even hotter producer-price report this morning. CoinDesk quoted $2,360.14 at 8:32 a.m. ET, and CoinCentral put the session low at $2,316.74. Verdict: ETH is testing its 100-day average at the same time as spot ETF outflows. Rising Fed-hike odds are the macro headwind. Reference levels: $2,150 below, $2,660 above.

Key facts

  • Spot, 15 October: $2,349.78 at 13:07 UTC, down 5.0 percent in 24 hours (CoinGecko). Bitcoin was at $80,503, down 2.6 percent, so ETH is falling about twice as fast.
  • Liquidations: CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost reported more than $106 million of ETH long positions liquidated on Binance within one hour after the CPI release, the largest such event in six months (via crypto.news). CoinCentral put total crypto liquidations over 24 hours at $959 million, of which $880 million were longs.
  • Spot ETH ETFs: net outflows of $130 million on Wednesday 14 October, after $25 million of inflows on Tuesday (SoSoValue, via FXStreet). Outflows have continued since 29 September. CoinCentral reported a smaller Wednesday figure of $19.7 million. Daily flow figures differ by data provider.
  • Technical levels (FXStreet): 100-day EMA $2,353, 200-day EMA about $2,299, 50-day EMA $2,493, SuperTrend line about $2,662. The daily RSI is near 35.
  • Macro: September CPI was 3.7 percent year on year against 3.6 percent expected. Core CPI rose 0.3 percent month on month against 0.2 percent. Producer prices released today rose 1.3 percent in the month against a 0.6 percent estimate, and 6.3 percent year on year, the biggest gain since December 2022 (BLS, via CNBC).

Why ETH is falling harder than Bitcoin

Two hot inflation reports in two days have revived the chance of a Fed rate hike on 28 October. After the CPI release, published estimates put the odds at roughly 32 to 42 percent, depending on the source and the time of the reading. Higher-beta assets lose most when funding costs rise, and ETH is the higher-beta of the two large caps.

Leverage made the move worse. The one-hour $106 million long liquidation on Binance shows how many traders were positioned for a bounce above $2,400. Their forced selling pushed the price through support levels faster than spot selling alone would have. ETF demand is not offsetting it either. US spot ETH funds have been net sellers almost every day since late September, so there is no steady institutional buyer under the market the way there was earlier in the year.

The levels that matter

  • $2,353, the 100-day EMA: ETH is trading on this line right now. A daily close below it opens the next test.
  • About $2,299, the 200-day EMA: FXStreet notes that a daily close below this level would reinforce the bearish bias. It is the last major moving-average support.
  • $2,400-$2,500: the first resistance band. It ends at the 50-day EMA ($2,493), and ETH needs to reclaim that level to reverse the two-day slide.

Ethereum price scenarios

Scenario Level What gets it there
Bear $2,150 ETH closes below the 200-day EMA near $2,299, ETF outflows continue and October hike odds rise. A further leg lower, about 8.5 percent below today’s spot.
Base $2,500 The 100-to-200-day EMA zone holds, liquidations clear out excess leverage, and ETH climbs back to the 50-day EMA at $2,493.
Bull $2,660 Fed officials play down the energy-driven inflation spike, ETF flows turn positive, and ETH reaches the SuperTrend line near $2,662.

All three levels are measured from the verified $2,350 spot. They are reference levels, not forecasts.

Quick take: ETH is down about 5 percent while Bitcoin is down about 2.6 percent. Leverage being cleared out and steady ETF outflows explain the gap. The $2,300-$2,353 moving-average zone decides the week. If it holds, a move back to $2,500 is possible. If it fails, $2,150 is in play.
