American Eagle Outfitters is bringing more than 200 new jobs to Rowan County through a $41 million investment in a distribution hub set to open in Salisbury. Governor Josh Stein announced the plans on July 17, saying the facility will serve the southeastern United States and strengthen the company’s supply chain network across the region.
The Pittsburgh-based retailer, known for its popularity among young shoppers, will operate out of the Innovation Logistics Center off Peeler Road. Operations are expected to begin in early 2027, according to local officials who confirmed the site selection in their own news release.
Stein praised North Carolina’s business climate in announcing the deal, pointing to what he called a stable economy and skilled workforce that continue attracting major employers. He said American Eagle will be a welcome addition to Rowan County and noted that North Carolina remains one of the top states for business year after year.
American Eagle executive Jay Schottenstein echoed those sentiments, saying the state offers the infrastructure and strategic location the company needs to keep growing. He said the brand is proud to establish a presence in Rowan County and sees the facility as an important piece of its long-term distribution strategy.
Workers who fill the new skilled positions can expect average wages of around $57,351, though actual pay will vary depending on the role. The investment represents another economic win for Salisbury as the city continues positioning itself as a logistics hub for companies looking to reach customers throughout the Southeast.
